Sadly, the phrase "offense sputtered" is creeping into just about every sport the Tide participates in.
Emeel Salem saves the Tide from coming home without a hit.
Alabama saw it's six game win streak come to an end yesterday as the No. 26 Golden Eagles topped the No. 13 Tide 5-0 in Pearl, MS. Freshman right hander Todd McInnis (a former Mississippi High School Player of the Year) took a no hitter into the eighth inning in only his third collegiate start.
Senior center fielder Emeel Salem broke up the no-hit bid with a two-out infield single as Alabama avoided being no-hit for just the third time in the program's 115-year history and the first time since 1967.
The Tide welcomes Tennessee Tech to Sewell-Thomas Stadium tonight at 6:30 pm.
