Different Golden Eagles, Same Result

The Baseball team dropped it's second game in as many days, falling to Tennessee Tech 8-6 before a home crowd.

We can't seem to get past the Golden Eagles, whether it's the Southern or Tech variety.

After the Tide rallied from 5-0 and 6-2 deficits, Tennessee Tech scored two runs in the seventh inning, including one on a costly two-out error, to take the lead for good after the Tide tied things up at 6-6 in the bottom of the sixth.

"I thought we would be able to comeback (after the first inning)," Alabama head coach Jim Wells said.  We scored some runs, but just could not hold them down.  We had a couple of balls fall in that one inning that should not have and they took the lead.  We are not doing many things well right now."

The five runs scored by Tech in the first inning is more than the Tide has allowed in it's previous fifteen games. Entering this game, Alabama had only allowed two first inning runs all season.

Alabama brings a 12-4 record back to Sewell-Thomas on Friday for the first of a three game series with the Nebraska Cornhuskers.  The series opener is set for 6:30pm CST, and you can listen in on the Crimson Tide Sports Network beginning at 6:20.
