I'd heard rumors swirling around that Alabama's 2010 game against Duke (which is supposed to be played at Duke) would be played elsewhere so Duke could maximize profits. Atlanta and Charlotte were the two cities I heard about the most...I even heard Birmingham at one point (the article says Birmingham and Mobile have both expressed interest.) It looks like the Atlanta Sports Council has now approached Duke about bringing the game to the Georgia Dome. Having the game at the Georgia Dome would obviously get more cash flowing into Duke's coffers than having it at the tiny 33,941 seat Wallace Wade Stadium in Durham. I welcome the idea because I'd like to see Alabama play more neutral site games (though Duke would control the tickets to this one I suppose.)
...and cue jokes from other teams' fans about this being the only way Alabama will play in the Georgia Dome anytime soon...
