Not Good Enough for Bama? Go to Tech!

There's an excellent piece on former Tide great Barry Krauss in the Birmingham News today which includes this amusing tidbit about Krauss's choice to play his college ball for the Tide:

Krauss signed with Alabama despite mixed signals from some of his teammates.

One teammate at Pompano Beach High was Eddie Blankenship, who originally was from South Alabama
"He thought Alabama was the greatest program in the world," Krauss said. "When we had free time, we'd go run the wishbone against the waves on the beach."

But another friend issued a stern warning when Krauss picked Alabama over Georgia Tech as his college destination.

"He told me, `They're a football factory. You're not good enough to play for them.' That motivated me."
