A Couple of Basketball Notes

I know, it's weird to be concerned with basketball when football season is so achingly close, but here are a couple of noteworthy tidbits for the roundball fans among us:

The Tide basketball program picked up two big commitments in as many weeks. Andrew Steele, brother of Ronald Steele, committed to Alabama last week, and today Jamychal Green, a 6'9" power forward considered the #1 prep prospect in the state, also committed to the Tide.

And speaking of Ronald Steele, he'll have another surgery today. It's a "follow up" procedure, and he is expected to still be ready by the start of the regular season. As someone who's had his fair share of knee problems (and likely looks to have more down the road), I hope this is the end of the process for Steele, not just because we need him on the basketball court, but because I know how frustrating it is and can really empathize with the guy.
