Star Jackson has committed to Alabama.
For those who do not know, Jackson is the top quarterback prospect in the state of Florida, and likely the top quarterback prospect in the Southeast. He's a dual-threat guy with good speed and a good arm; his videos remind me quite a bit of former Georgia quarterback D.J. Shockley.
Jackson was recruited hard by several top schools, including Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, West Virginia and others. At the end of the day, he chose Alabama over West Virginia.
Considering that Jackson has now committed, and that the commitment of A.J. McCarron is nothing short of a given (one of the top QB prospects in the country for 2009), it's no wonder that Saban and co. chose to play Nick Fanuzzi this past Saturday.
According to Scout.com, we now have eleven commitments rated as four-stars or higher (fifth in the country), and according to Rivals, Inc., we now have eleven commitments rated as four-stars or higher.
Things are looking good.
