It's been a very slow week here at RBR, thanks in large part to the start of the NCAA Tournament and to the fact that the university is out on Spring Break. This, of course, has caused the temporary delay of spring practice at the Capstone, but things are starting back shortly.
Practice will start back for the Tide on Monday afternoon. We will practice again on Wednesday, again on Friday, and will then have the first scrimmage of the Spring on Saturday. Spring practice, of course, officially started last week with a couple of practices, but things are really going to get started this week, and the scrimmage will give us a good bit of insight into how things are developing. As always, we'll keep you up to date with everything here at RBR.
Also, the spring roster has been released by the athletic department (read Nick Saban). There are a few tidbits, but honestly no shocking news. To begin with, three players -- Nick Fanuzzi, Josh Chapman, and Nick Gentry -- were not granted medical redshirts, which isn't all that surprising, and all three are listed as sophomores. Aside from that, there were a few position changes. Tarence Farmer has moved from safety to wide receiver, while Travis Sikes did the exact opposite moving from wide receiver to safety. Javier Arenas moved from safety to cornerback, and Charles Hoke moved from tight ends to right tackle. Moreover, a few walk-ons left the team, which is par for the course this time of year. All in all, though, there was nothing that would be considered particularly big news.
Either way, stay tuned here at RBR, we'll keep you up to date as things develop.
