Big News Regarding Alonzo Lawrence

We have some potentially very big news regarding Alonzo Lawrence, the highly-touted cornerback that Alabama signed this past February out of Lucedale, Mississippi.

Lawrence re-took the ACT on February 9th, and he has just received his score. According to Lawrence himself, he made an 18, and now only needs to pass the classes he is taking this Spring and graduate high school in order to be academically eligible.

It is really incredible news for us. We all know that the cornerback position, aside from Kareem Jackson, is wide open, and I stated when he committed to us that if Lawrence qualified, there was a very good chance that he would start from day one. The kid is simply that good. The fact that he shut down both Deandre Brown and Julio Jones speaks volumes regarding his abilities, and Saban openly gushed over him at a post-NSD press conference. Even considering Julio, Love, Scott, Barron, etc., Lawrence may in fact be the best of the bunch.

At the very least, it's big news for us. We desperately needed him to qualify, and apparently he has done just that.
