Why?: Mostly 'cause it's the Thursday night game, but also because it will take me back to a simpler time, when VT/Miami was the de facto ACC title game and actually meant something.
Who do I think will win?: Toss up, at least for now. Neither team will be great offensively, but the 'Canes should be improved in Shannon's second year (plus it's near the end of the season when both teams will have settled in a bit) while VT will probably be struggling on offense and relying heavily on defense as per usual. Phil Steele tidbit: Miami's new DC was the man calling the defense for Kansas in their Orange Bowl win over Tech last year, so epic defensive struggle in the making? Probably.
Who do I hope will win?: Amazingly, Miami. Thug U and all that, but Shannon seems like a stand up guy that is trying to clean up that image, plus my last dynasty in '08 was with them. Behold the power of EA Sports.
