The Return of the Foy-ODK Sportsmanship Trophy

Gentle friends. Rejoice. For today - after six long years - the James E. Foy Omicron Delta Kappa Sportsmanship Trophy will return to the University of Alabama. The decisive 36-0 victory of the Crimson Tide over Auburn last November in the Iron Bowl will be completed tonight at halftime of the Alabama/Auburn basketball game in Coleman Coliseum.

The vaunted trophy will be handed over in a halfcourt ceremony and, as tradition dictates, the losing school’s SGA president must sing the winning school’s fight song afterward. An indignity I dearly hope ESPN will show during it's telecast of the game.

So, after being housed at the Auburn Lovelace Athletic Museum for the past six years, the trophy will now reside at the Paul W. Bryant Museum (previously, it was placed on display at the Ferguson Student Center).

Also, the Alabama basketball team is riding a three-game hot streak and, if they keep winning, an outside shot at the NIT tournament. If you attend, stick around and yell loud! Roll Tide!
