Nick Saban highest-paid college football coach | TideSports.com
Nick Saban is officially college football’s first — and only — $6 million man.
The University of Alabama’s head football coach will accrue compensation of $6,087,349 for 2010, making him not only the highest-paid coach in college football but one of the highest-paid coaches in the entire sport.
In truth, Saban’s compensation for the year is a bit of an anomaly due to a restructuring of his contract that took place in April. In September 2009, Saban signed a three-year extension of his contract through the 2017 season that included $5 million in "completion" bonuses that were originally to be paid out in lump sums of $1.6 million after the 2011 season, $1.7 million after the 2014 season and $1.7 million after the 2017 season.
COACHES SALARIES REVIEWED. YOU ARE STILL POOR. - Every Day Should Be Saturday
Nick Saban's salary shouldn't surprise you if you've seen the stupid #### people in Alabama spend money on in person. This is not a point of debate: no state boasts more lift kits and chrome on trucks with overdue car notes. (Just listen to the ads on Finebaum: it is now an exclusively liposuction and fraud-based economy.)

Michigan State's Mark Dantonio 'not satisfied' with 11-win season, seeks first bowl win | MLive.com
"For four years, we talked about what it takes to become a champion, and now that the program has arrived at that point, we must try to take the next step," Dantonio said. "At 11-1, we’re not satisfied. Our focus is on winning our last football game — the bowl game."
Dantonio said his staff has evaluated each bowl experience, and each year made adjustments to improve the experience and preparation. The Spartans will travel to Orlando, Fla., on Christmas Day. They will attend the bowl functions, hit Disney World and enjoy the experience, he said.
"But we’ll get ready to play a great football team, too," he said. "We have a lot to play for."
