College Football TV Carrying Capacity

Gentlemen,

I am no economist, but I am at least a little familiar with the Malthusian notion of the Carrying Capacity:

Carrying_capacity_medium

The maximum number of individuals that a given environment can support without detrimental effects.

Substitute Population with TV revenue. I haven't seen too much talk on how far the TV money can go in the distant future, and I believe there is going to be a point when adding new eyeballs to TV sets becomes very difficult. All this talk of expansion and TV revenue seems to be tinged with the notion that it will keep expanding, maybe exponentially. If this happens it's easy to guess there will be a time of contraction in College Football, or at the very least a leveling off. I think there is room for more viewership, and thus, change in the future, and I also believe that our sport will go through massive upheavals in the search for dollars until these forces are balanced to a degree.

Let it be known: I do not want this to get too political. With that said, what will the sport look like when this happens? How much time do you think will pass before this takes place? and finally, what are your predictions for the future after this point?
