Welcome to the World's Biggest Outdoor Natty Light Party, y'all. Nothing says bad football on an otherwise boring off week quite like Florida v. Georgia, no?
Those of you who follow the leading economic indicators will note that 402,000 Americans filed claims for unemployment benefits last week. All else staying the same, that number will be 402,001 this week if Mark Richt cannot find a way to shake his Jacksonville demons. On the other hand, Gator prayers have finally been answered with the return of John Brantley (yes, the world is ending), while on the opposite sideline Malcolm Mitchell will apparently be watching this one from the Valdosta hibachi house. Meanwhile, speaking of eating establishments, it's time for Charlie Weis to start earning all of those Golden Corral vouchers because you can't pay the bills off one touchdown in ten quarters.
In other action, Baylor takes on Oklahoma State on ABC, while Oklahoma looks to rebound in Manhattan after an upset last weekend by taking on a surprisingly undefeated Kansas State team. Navy takes on Notre Dame on NBC if you can handle bad football and raging douche head coaches. Illinois also takes on Penn State in Happy Valley on ESPN.
We'll have the evening threads posted later, but in the meantime chime in here with all of your thoughts and comments on the afternoon action.
