Ryan Anderson Commits to Alabama

Regardless of any potential squabbles over on-field performance, the 2011 A-Day game should already be deemed a success if but for nothing more than the absence of any serious injuries. In the aftermath, though, things get even better as 'Bama picks up another commitment on the recruiting trails. Per the Tuscaloosa News:

Daphne defensive end Ryan Anderson committed to Alabama on Saturday during his visit to Tuscaloosa for A-Day.

Good news all the way around, even if this was expected. Anderson picked up a solid offer list early in the process, including offers from Auburn and Tennessee, but when he got an Alabama offer a few days ago his commitment became imminent. The question with Anderson was always more of an issue of when, rather than if, he would commit to 'Bama, so that this comes on the heels of picking up a 'Bama offer and attending the A-Day game comes as no real surprise.

Either way, Anderson looks to be a solid addition. He is listed by most services at approximately 6'3 and 250 pounds, so he has the size to either play Jack linebacker or bulk up and play defensive end. He plays defensive end at Daphne, and posted very impressive production as a junior against high-end prep competition, racking up 75 tackles, 14.5 sacks, and 11 TFL's.

Anderson becomes the eleventh commitment of the 2012 recruiting class.
