Demetrius Goode Transferring to North Alabama

Some roster news coming out, running back Demetrius Goode has chosen to transfer to North Alabama, announcing his decision via a Facebook post:

"I would like to thank my Alabama family for the greatest journey of my life," Goode wrote. "I have learned many things and matured in many ways but everyday brings about change. Sometimes you have to move on to do better in life. I will be moving to North Alabama for football. RTR forever in my heart, the champion Tide, the fans that I will always love and never forget. I thank ya'll for the support: ROLL TIDE ROLL. For life."

Though he hasn't officially received his release from Alabama, Goode signed a grant-in-aid with North Alabama today and is all but certainly gone, and Coach Terry Bowden seems happy to have him:

"We're excited that Demetrius has chosen to finish his college football career here at UNA," Bowden said. "He comes with the highest recommendations from every coach I had the opportunity to talk to at Alabama in regards to his character, football playing ability and work ethic."

Can't say I'm shocked or surprised on this one, Goode has yet to see a significant snap in his career at Alabama and has never risen to higher than fourth on the depth chart. With Richardson and Lacy secure at the top of the pile, and true freshman Dee Hart seeing more snaps (and earlier) on A Day, it was a pretty safe bet that Goode would have spent his senior season without any real role on offense. Best of luck to him at UNA.
