POLL: What Do You Do on the Saturday of the Bye Week?

John David Mercer-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Alabama's bye week comes unusually early this year, probably as a function of the hastily shifted SEC schedule that came as a result of the addition of Missouri and Texas A&M to the conference. Our bye week has typically fallen the last weekend of October and came at an optimal time for the team to get a breather and to get as healthy as possible before the final third of the season. This year though, it comes after only five games.

As someone that probably takes football more seriously than I should, fall Saturdays are pretty well spoken for the three months of the regular season. No matter what time of day Alabama plays or what the result is, it pretty much consumes the day. The bye week though, is the one weekend from September through November where you can do something different with the day. You can watch other teams play football all day and enjoy the games stress free, you can spend extra time with your loved ones (who may very well hate how seriously you take football) and build up some good karma as you test their patience for the remaining weeks of the season, you can use it to finish an outdoor project while the weather's still nice, you can take a weekend road trip, etc. The possibilities are really endless.

How do you plan on spending your Saturday during the bye week?
