Various sources are reporting that Ross Pierschbacher is coming to Tuscaloosa in 2014.
The Cedar Falls standout committed to Iowa early this year, but flipped after visits to the Capstone and elsewhere. He released a statement:
"I would like to end the speculation as I prepare to enter my senior season so that I may focus my attention to my team... I would like to thank Coach (Kirk) Ferentz, his coaching staff and the University of Iowa for the offer to be part of Hawkeye football. They have a great tradition, outstanding people and a top notch program."
The pieces are falling into place for another stellar recruiting class. It's always too early to stake a claim to another recruiting national championship, but the quality of the incoming commits would likely stand with any (and there are still some top-tier talents out there who haven't verbally committed.) Most (if not all) are firmly entrenched in the ESPN 300 for 2014.
Nice work, Coach Cristobal. The only real challenge might be luring away the artisan who made "Lutzenkirchen" fit on a jersey down on the plains. Or maybe finding this kid a nickname that would prevent spelling errors. (Press-Blocker?)
Gump on, everyone.
