Welcome, everyone to game week.  It's been a helluva off season but we managed to pull through.  I'm glad you're all here with us and I'm going to do my best not to Gump up this post too much.  Though when I was listening to the Podcast yesterday I found myself agreeing with Slice (OMG, I said it in public again... I think I just divided by zero) and don't find myself having too many concerns regarding our corners like John Fulton.

I wanted to take the time again to tell you all how much you mean to me in times like last week when my dad was in the hospital and I wasn't sure what was going on.  This blog means more to me than just a place to come to talk about football with my fellow Bama fans. It's also a great place to blow off some steam when life has gotten a bit too much.  I've laughed (thanks TUN, Bix & OWB), cried (Fitty & AlabamaJammer), enjoyed some great music {Judge & Spock (I know you're still here, man)}, and all the rest of you have seriously thrilled me with all your amazing football knowledge.  Before I start sounding like I'm signing off the board, I just wanted y'all to all know that when life kicks your butt, it's just great to have you ALL here for me when I needed you, all of you came through.  Thank you. /dang it's dusty in here.

Coach Beamer said, "What happens [by opening] with Alabama, I think your football program is better."  Does, anyone else see how the editors that got this quote from him managed to insert the [thought] that  opening your season against us it makes your program better?  He did manage to close the quote by saying "They can make you look bad in a hurry..."  Well, yes, Sir we can... thank you for recognizing as such.

I'm not going to go all into the same level of detail about the game that you've already read from the guys. But I am going to say that I am truly looking forward to the excitement of the game, the Pomp and  Circumstance of it being a dual conference mix-up.  I can't wait to get there to hang out with some friends pre-game and stare at all the Dragon-con freaks. (Live Tweeting to be found @NicLizD just sayin.)

There's been a lot of talk about our exploited deep pass defense by UGA in the SECCG last year, the pass rush, the secondary and the rush defense.  We've heard scads about how we don't know enough about our offensive line and how dominating they will be (I already know they're going to dominate, but will it be so bad they'll have an NCAA Bama Offense rule? Ricky? Thoughts on that? /NoGumping.)  We've heard quite a bit about the philosophy of Coach Saban possibly changing in regard to the size of our defensive line, but what does all that mean, exactly?

Basically it means that we're all talking heads that don't know anything until the first game is played. We're looking at a brand new team with a loss of significant players and additions that will bring a tear to any old timer's eye.  We're in the golden years, we're a dynasty, we've got reason to Gump all over the place because we're amazing.  I never thought that we'd be here again and I plan to revel in it for as long as I possibly can.

On Saturday I will be attending the game at the Dome. I will be wearing my cute little ‘A' tattoo on my cheek & carrying my lucky shaker that I took with me to Pasadena (after it shouldered us through the 2009 season.)  I've been looking forward to this day since January 9, 2013.  It seemed as if it would never get here and yet here it is.  I'm lucky enough to be sharing it with y'all.

I'm going to let the guys talk about our faster, smaller, higher tempo defense vs the power runs of yesteryear.  I'll let everyone discuss the diversity and depth of our bench.  Y'all can fret over who is hurt and healthy.  I'm going to savor the fact that I'm still on this side of the concrete and have another opportunity to shout "Roll Tide!" or sing "Yea, Alabama!" this Saturday.  Because, in the end, no matter how we break it down, the game will still have to be played on the field on Saturday and none of us know how it will turn out (unless someone has a souped-up Delorean that they're hiding from me.)

Again, each week I'm going to leave you with these three things:

1.       The RollBamaRoll Welcome Center (in case you missed it.)

2.       My email for any questions you may have that you don't want to leave in comments: RollTideYall74@gmail.com

3.       One of the most delicious men on television right now, the RBR Beau:
