Offensive Depth Chart '13-'15

We've decided to try something new this year, in the form of an extensive, prospective, and dynamic depth chart.  We've taken the roster, built a depth chart, and carried it out over the next three seasons to try to give an idea of what the team will look like.  It will also help us visualize our areas of need, as well as give us a bit of insight into the strategies of our recruiting.

First off, some ground rules for the chart.  For the purposes of carrying names forward, almost no one is considered to be leaving early for the NFL.  I believe the only exceptions to this rule are T.J. Yeldon, Amari Cooper, and Cyrus Kouandjio.  It would be a nightmare to try to project that out, and we've seen that even "can't miss" three-year players can sometimes end up playing four years (see: Barron, Mark).  Potential transfers are also ignored.

Similarly, for the purposes of class designations, no players are assumed to redshirt.  It's impossible for us to know for certain who will redshirt out of the new bloods this year, and even less possible to know who will redshirt among the '14 commitments.  Also, since we're only going out three seasons, the redshirt issue is a non-factor in who will still be here, so it's best to just not worry with it.

Yes.  I did say "commitments".  As I mentioned, this depth chart is prospective, and dynamic.  Right now, all '14 commitments are included in the chart.  '15 commitments are not included, because those kids are still in diapers.  These charts will be included in the section titled "Roll Bama Roll Welcome Center" below the main headlines on the main page, and will stay there, so you can always come back to reference them.  We will continue updating the chart as new '14 commitments come in, or if something unexpected were to happen with the existing roster.
