The All-Star game will spotlight the best high school football players for the Class of 2014. Two Alabama commitments will be participating as well as a few undecided young men
COMMITTED TO ALABAMA:
#11 (Black) LB Shaun Dion Hamilton (6-0/240) Carver (Montgomery, AL)
#99 (Yellow) DL Josh Frazier (6-3/335) Har-Ber (Springdale, AR) - Frazier was recognized as the best overall performer at the second day of practice this past week.
UNDECIDED WILL ANNOUNCE AT GAME:
#50 (Yellow) OL Brian Wallace (6-6/305) Christian Brothers (St. Louis, MO) - Finalists: Alabama & Arkansas#69 (Black) DL Matt Elam (6-5/350) John Hardin (Elizabethtown, KY) - Finalists: Alabama & Kentucky
* My feeling is that Bama gets neither of these guys. Both of them may prefer to stay closer to home and expect earlier playing time at the other schools. In the case of Elam, the recent commitment from Frazier along with O.J. Smith may have filled the Tide's need for a big man in the middle for this class.
UNDECIDED WITH ALABAMA AS A LONGSHOT:
#2 (Black) WR Marshon Lattimore (6-0/175) Glenville (Cleveland, OH) - Ohio State lean
#4 (Yellow) DB C.J. Hampton (6-1/195) Meridian (MS) - Ole Miss commit
CAUGHT UP IN THE NUMBERS:
#70 (Black) DL Elisha Shaw (6-4/295) Tucker (GA) - Grades & injuries are concerns. Probably no room at Bama.
#78 (Black) OL Jordan Sims (6-4/345) Homewood (AL) - Really likes Bama but I'm don't think there is room for him either. Thanks, Houston Nutt!
* Details on the recent commitment of Tony Brown and re-commitment of Laurence Jones can be seen here.
* Details on last Thursday's 2014 Under Armour All-America Game can be seen here.
UPDATE: Elisha Shaw and Matt Elam announced on Twitter that they will no longer be committing Saturday and will instead wait until National Signing Day. This is especially interesting for Shaw. If the numbers work out, he could end up at Bama.
