Soon-to-be ex-Alabama tight end Kurt Freitag was caught by police possessing 112 grams of marijuana and nearly $4,700 in cash in his on-campus dorm room at Bryant Hall.
West Alabama Narcotics Task Force were "tipped off" about a drug transaction involving the sophomore.
The deal was monitored last Tuesday and agents confronted Freitag, according to a complaint filed Monday. After being read his Miranda rights, Freitag allowed agents to search his room in Bryant Hall, where "112 grams of marijuana and $4,661 in cash" was found.
Freitag was a three star out of Buford, Georgia and a high school teammate of linebacker Dillon Lee. The reserve tight end has played in two career games with one reception for 11 yards against Georgia State in 2013 and also saw action against Arkansas last season. He had yet to appear in a game this season.
EDITORIAL: Freitag had generally been considered a bust at Bama and will soon be digging a ditch at a highway near you.
