SEC Football Week 12 TV Schedule - Team Speed Kills
Mississippi State at Alabama, Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET, CBS I realize this game is in Tuscaloosa, but the Tide is more than a touchdown favorite at 8.5 points as of time of posting in the middle of the week. That's a big number for the No. 1 team to be getting in mid-November.
In case there's any confusion about when this game is going to be played.
Nick Saban gives brief update on T.J. Yeldon's ankle, availability for Mississippi State | AL.com
"He's practicing and doing well," Saban said.
His response was about the same when asked if Yeldon was expected to play in the 2:30 p.m. Saturday visit from No. 1 Mississippi State.
"He's practicing and doing well," Saban said. "Yes."
Is Saban playing games here? Because...
Alabama RB T.J. Yeldon was limping just a bit as he participated in most individual drills. His recovery from a sprained ankle has him doing more today than he was at this point last week, when he was recovering from a foot injury. Nick Saban addressed his status earlier today.
LT Cam Robinson (ankle) was limited earlier this week but there's no sign of that today. Austin Shepherd worked at right tackle, per usual.
It definitely doesn't sound like Yeldon is 100%. Maybe it's just pregame jitters sneaking up on me, but I'm not liking the sound of Yeldon limping (even just a bit) 3 days removed from a huge game.
The secret behind Alabama's LSU recovery for Mississippi State? Scientific tights | AL.com
And, after an overtime slugfest in Baton Rouge, its introduction comes at a perfect time. The No. 1 Bulldogs come to town fresh after a 45-16 whipping of UT-Martin. The new technology comes in a unique form.
They're essentially tights.
Tight end O.J. Howard called them leggings, but Nike officially lists them as Pro Combat Hypertights. They retail for $140 online and are made out of 80 percent rayon and 20 percent spandex. They work as compression pants to work on the leg muscles after competition.

"I've grown a lot in every aspect of life and every aspect of the quarterback position," Prescott said. "I don't really think there will be any jitters going into the stadium. (Playing there in 2012) got me familiar with the place, knowing if I can score in there as a freshman, than it can happen again."
Prescott has thrown for 2,231 yards with 18 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He's rushed for 779 yards and 11 touchdowns. Those numbers, combined with Mississippi State's No. 1 ranking, has him squarely in the mix for Heisman consideration. He was recently named a finalist for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.
Mississippi State will 'do what we do,' use single coverage on Alabama's Amari Cooper | AL.com
Mississippi State is giving up 300 yards per game through the air, last in the SEC. But the Bulldogs lead the SEC in sacks and are near the top in rushing defense and tackles for loss.
"We do what we do," Mississippi State defensive coordinator Geoff Collins said. "The emphasis all year and all the time is to stop the run.
"At times, there will be kids put in 1-on-1 situations on pass rush or an open-field tackle, so the kids understand that we move stress around throughout the game and sometimes you're going to have some stress on you, so the challenge is to make that play when it comes."
Mississippi State players embracing weekly challenge of bigger games, Dan Mullen says | AL.com
"This is what they came to school here for," Mullen said. "They wanted to put us in a position where we're on the national stage here at Mississippi State.
"In the past, Mississippi State has had some big games and it's been here and there throughout history on the national stage, but we want to consistently be on the national stage and play in these big games. We tell our guys when we win a game in the SEC, your only reward is a bigger game the next week. We've been playing in bigger games all season. Our guys embrace that and understand that, if we can win this one, the next one will be bigger again."
Nick Saban reveals who's playing role of Dak Prescott at Alabama's practices | AL.com
Redshirt freshman Cooper Bateman has assumed the role and, from all accounts, filled it seamlessly. This week, Bateman's tackled the role of Mississippi State's Dak Prescott, a Heisman Trophy candidate who has rushed for 779 yards and 11 touchdowns.
"Cooper Bateman is very athletic, very fast, probably runs less than a 4.6 (40-yard dash) and does a really, really good job," Alabama coach Nick Saban said after Wednesday's practice. "He's been the scout team player of the week several times this year. Certainly has done a really good job this week. You have to have someone that can be that type of guy or you really can't prepare your defense for what they're going to see."

Report: Jameis Winston code of conduct hearing postponed to Dec. 1 - CBSSports.com
According to a report from USA Today, a Florida State investigative hearing to determine whether an alleged sexual assault involving quarterback Jameis Winston violated the school's student conduct code has been delayed to Dec. 1. Last week, it was announced the same hearing would take place the week of Nov. 17, but Winston's adviser, David Cornwell, sent a letter to the school and the attorneys of the woman accusing Winston to delay the hearing.
...
Also, USA Today reports that Florida State's conduct code says a decision letter stemming from the hearing will be sent to the student within 10 class days from the conclusion of the hearing. The last day of the fall semester at Florida State is Dec. 12 with spring semester classes beginning Jan. 7.
That means it's possible Winston wouldn't be notified of the decision until Jan. 13. The College Football Playoff Championship Game is scheduled to be played on Jan. 12.
Welp. There you go. He's going to get off scot-free.
