Who Needs A Blog Poll: Week 13 - FARTNOISE

That was the lamest week of games ever. Competitive, but lame.

RUN THE DANG BALL, LANE!
RUN THE DANG BALL, LANE!
Marvin Gentry-USA TODAY Sports

Body bag day across the SEC brought absolutely very few surprises. Mizzou turned it on in the fourth quarter to stay alive in the East, to remain one of the ugliest, sloppiest winning teams outside of the 2005 Shula era. Ole Miss brought its malpractice version of Doctor Bo, giving the ball up like Arkansas was a Salvation Army bell ringer. With that win, Alabama's good loss is a little less good, but makes the Arkansas escape look much better by comparison. Elsewise, injuries marred the Tide's win over the dirtiest paycheck team I've ever seen, and Auburn's malaise continues to run deep on both sides of the ball. Florida smacked around Eastern Kentucky in the most emotional Senior Days in a long while, while UGA unleashed its stable of running backs en route to a pantsing of Charleston Southern. As predicted, a grumpy Mississippi State team took out its frustrations on hapless Vandy, in a game that should have had a running clock.

Nationally, no real surprises except for margins of victory: Arizona destroyed the Utes, UCLA gave the Trojans the business, Minnesota manballed Nebraska, Oklahoma and Baylor cruised over bad competition, Ohio State struggled with Indiana, and Wisconsin tried its damnedest to choke in Iowa City. Oh, and stop me if you've heard this before, Florida State struggled with another marginal bowl team before winning at the last second. Oregon blasted a Colorado team that is far worse than many FCS programs.

All in all, not many changes, this week; just some shuffling, 86ing a bad Marshall team, and the inclusion of Arkansas. Sure, the Hogs are 6-5, but the team that's suiting up the past month is not the timid lot of September -this group has learned how to win, and is as physical and nasty a bunch as any in the SEC.
