2014 Alabama Spring Football Report: Practice #2

And then the rains came...

Roll Tide.
Roll Tide.
Matthew Emmons-US PRESSWIRE

The wet stuff came down across most of the south on St. Patrick's Day forcing spring football practice numero deux indoors at the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility. By NCAA rule, the Crimson Tide were once again relegated to helmets and shorts. The practice was mainly running drills and teaching.

It was mostly an uneventful day except for the presence of the ESPN cameras. David Pollack and Shannon Spake toured the facilities and did some interviews. Spake interviewed wide receiver Amari Cooper and linebacker Trey DePriest while Pollack conversed with head coach Nick Saban. Of course Pollack brought up the 10 second rule to which Saban raised a good point that the NCAA keeps cutting back on practice time but injuries happen "seven-to-one" more often in games than in practices. Spake and Pollack wrapped it up with the latter confidently saying Jake Coker will be the starter at quarterback from day one.

You can watch the coverage at ESPN.com or see below.

There was no press conference following this practice. The next one will be on Wednesday after practice #3.

Roll Tide!
