Alabama fans will 'need telescopes' to see field at expanded Tiger Stadium, LSU AD says | AL.com

More seats at LSU's Tiger Stadium won't mean a better view for Alabama fans when the Crimson Tide and Tigers square off in their annual November grudge match. Rather, LSU athletic director Joe Alleva offered a recommendation to those who score tickets to the Nov. 8 game in Baton Rouge. "They're going to need telescopes to see the game," Alleva told fans in Lafayette, Louisiana, during a Tuesday stop on the LSU Tiger Tour.

GC mentioned this in the comments of yesterday's JP but I felt like we could all use another round of laughing at LSU...

Detroit Lions move former Alabama tight end Michael Williams to offensive tackle | AL.com

Williams broke his hand during last year's preseason and was placed on injured reserve, preventing him from seeing the field during his rookie year. He's currently listed at 6-foot-5 and 278 pounds. The Lions used their first pick in the 2014 NFL Draft on North Carolina tight end Eric Ebron. Just two months after he was selected in last year's seventh round, Lions assistant director of pro personnel Charlie Sanders hinted at the possibility.

"One thing about it, he's not going to get any smaller," Sanders told the Detroit Free Press in June 2013. "He's 270 (pounds) now, so once he gets on a weight program and eating right, I could see him later on in his career moving inside."

When Detroit took a tight end in the first round of the draft and wondered what they planned on doing with Williams and now we know..

That jacket was, well, interesting.

School or sports? Congressmen push Emmert on issue

Cummings and Cárdenas are seeking details about how the NCAA oversees educational matters, its handling of athletes' health and its finances. They also are requesting the employment agreements for Emmert and other top NCAA executives, "including the specific criteria on which compensation, bonuses, or other financial incentives are awarded, and whether those criteria relate to the academic performance of student-athletes at member institutions."

Oh, great. With all the problems in America this is how our elected officials choose to spend their time..
