2015 Football Recruiting Update: 4-Star Tight End Commits to Alabama

Marvin Gentry-USA TODAY Sports

Hale Hentges has become the 16th commitment for Alabama's Class of 2015.

The All-State tight end, who is also a standout defensive end for Helias High School in Jefferson City, Missouri, is rated the number two tight end by 247 and ESPN. Scout and Rivals have a few others ahead of him but all agree of his 4-star status.

The 6-4/230 athlete has excellent leaping ability (32 inches vertical) and speed (4.8) for his size. He frequently goes up against cornerbacks and can use his size to his advantage with good body control. His hand-eye coordination is superb.

Tight end will be a position of need for Bama in 2015. Brian Vogler will have moved on, Ty Flournoy-Smith will be a senior, and O.J. Howard will be a junior.

Hentges visited Tuscaloosa in March 2014 and returned for A-Day in April. He chose the Crimson Tide over Ohio State and Missouri and about 30 other schools that offered him.
