(2) Alabama
(50-11, 19-5 SEC)
Thursday, May 29 - 8:30 p.m. CT - ESPN2
On Wednesday, we saw the Alabama Men's golf team win their second straight National Championship on the strength of a mix of seniors with a few underclassmen. The Bama softball team has a similar situation with seniors Jaclyn Jackie J-Train Traina and Kaila "Big Game" Hunt looking to end their storied All-American careers with a second National Championship of their own.
The opponent is a familiar one. Recall two years ago when the Crimson Tide did their rain dance while the Sooners cowered in the dugout. The unforgettable 2012 Women's College World Series ended with Traina striking out the 2012 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Keilani Ricketts and the Tide bringing home the trophy. Ricketts has graduated but All-American first baseman Lauren Chamberlain and outfielder Destinee Martinez are back from the 2013 championship team.
There is also a bit good ol' fashion hate between these two football if you haven't heard. Oklahoma's defeat over a deflated Bama team in this past season's Consolation Sugar Bowl has been named the greatest victory in the history of football at any level ever (*source: Oklahoma fans).
Alabama and Oklahoma have met nine times in program history, with the Tide holding a 6-3 edge in the all-time series.
