2014 NFL Draft - Second & Third Rounds Open Thread

RVR Photos-USA TODAY Sports

We are back again for more hand-wringing and bizarre picks. The first round was jam packed with no-brainers with a few question marks mixed in. The second & third rounds are usually where thing get a little wacky.

Cyrus Kouandjio

I am not happy to say that I was right that CyKo was not going to be a first day pick. However, look for his name to be called in Round 2. The Houston Texans (#33, 1st pick) need O-line help but Virginia's Morgan Moses has been getting more buzz and they may need to get a QB. Tampa Bay at #38 (#6) needs an OT but there are way to many good defensive linemen still out there to pass up. This might be too good to be true but it is possible he could fall to #48 (#16) Baltimore Ravens.

AJ McCarron

Unless there is a crazy run of QBs, AJ likely gets taken in the third round - or later. Fresno's Derek Carr and this Jimmy Garoppolo guy out of Eastern Illinois seems to be exciting a lot of folks. McCarron should be the next QB picked on the day.

Kevin Norwood

I have Norwood pegged as a fourth round pick but he has had an impressive spring and unbeknownst to the general public, some team may have fallen in love with him and take him in the third. All it takes is for one GM to see something nobody else saw.
