What you need to know about Alabama football preseason practices opening Friday | AL.com

-- Day 1 of practice is split in two. The veterans take the morning session and the freshmen will hold an evening introduction to college football.

-- If you're looking for comments from coordinators Kirby Smart and Lane Kiffin, the only interview opportunity for them come Sunday morning.

-- There will be a number of players to keep an eye on as practice opens. Injuries took several out of spring practices including WR DeAndrew White, DL Darren Lake, and CB Eddie Jackson. Decision day for Georgia linebacker Adonis Thomas; will he commit to Alabama or Florida? | AL.com

Thomas' head coach, Todd Wofford, told AL.com last week that Thomas would announce his choice tonight after Central Gwinnett's practice, likely around 5:30 p.m. CT.

Thomas is down to Alabama and Florida. Florida has long been considered the favorite, but Thomas' most recent visit was to Alabama earlier this month. Thomas did not take a trip to Florida for its Friday Night Lights last weekend, so Alabama got the last visit. Will that be enough?

Will Alabama still another recruit from Georgia this week? Wait, what's that? He doesn't have UGA on his list?
