Help Welcome RBR's New Writers!

New, comments
John David Mercer-USA TODAY Spor

When I put out the request for contributors last week, at most I was looking to add one-two writers. So when I received over 30 applications I was immediately excited at the opportunity to not only grow the RBR staff members but also increase our coverage or all Alabama sports.

Adding people to specifically focus on recruiting, basketball, advanced stats, tailgating or film review allows for RBR to reach nearly every type of Alabama fan and ensures no gump is left behind.

I feel each of the new writers strengthens RBR's already strong team and well help take our coverage to the next level. So, please join me in welcoming the new members to the team!

Roll Tide!

12 National Championships- Football/ Op-ed

12NationalChampionships is an IT professional in the Tuscaloosa area who enjoys writing in his spare time.  He graduated from the University of Alabama in 1997, is married to a UA '98 grad, and has four children.  12NCs has been a member of RollBamaRoll since November 2009, when Alabama still had 12 national championships.  He covered high school sports for his hometown newspaper and was the Alabama Scholastic Press Association's High School Journalist of the Year in 1992.  He writes for two personal blogs when he feels like it, and is working on a medieval fantasy novel.

Kevin Paul- Running Back Success Rate / Stats

Kevin Paul is a junior at The University of Alabama, majoring in Finance and Economics. He hails from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. While he's in the business school, he has always held a passion for writing and decided to take a chance at doing it for real. He loves his family, his friends, and the Crimson Tide. Follow him on Twitter at @KevinPaul_RBR!!

Btbama22 - Recruiting

Is a junior Chemical Engineering student at the University of Alabama. I was also briefly pursuing a minor in journalism, but I kept getting lost in Reese Phifer hall trying to find the classes, so I decided that wasn't for me. Also, I really like numbers.

I will be keeping up with Alabama's football recruiting here, and hopefully help to re-spark the old excitement we used to have for those committing to play here. I also plan on keeping everyone updated on how former Alabama players are faring in the NFL, and come spring, giving updates on our players that are preparing for the draft.

BenMSYS- FOOOOOOOD and libations

I'm excited about each of our new writers but as a guy who loves grilled meats, Ben will always hold a special place in my heart. I look forward to trying his recipes and his ideas for the pre, in and post game festivites! - bammer

Wes Bulgarella- Film Review

Graduated from the University of Alabama in May 2014 with a degree in political science and history and will be starting law school in the fall at the University of Mississippi.

Will Heath- Op-eds/Opponent Previews

Is a lifelong fan of the Tide, graduated from the university in 2003, spent 11 years in journalism (sports and news) and am about to embark on a new journey as a professor of communication at Huntingdon College, in Montgomery. I believe my education as well as extensive time spent writing as an undergraduate will help me become an insightful contributor for RBR.

SaxonRBR- Advanced Stats

SaxonRBR's devotion to the Crimson Tide started at the tender age of 5 during the drubbing of Miami in early 1993, and remained strong despite the hordes of Gators and Seminoles in his hometown. A temporary bout of insanity led to years of self-inflicted torture commonly known as "engineering school." One benefit of this time was an appreciation for statistical analysis, which he will use to provide an analytics viewpoint on each week's game for Roll 'Bama Roll. A recent transplant to Utah, when not reading about the Tide he is usually pining after craft beer and proper Southern barbecue.

KansanTide- Basketball/Advanced Stats

KT is a current UA student and will providing his knowledge of advanced stats and basketball to help bolster our bouncy hoops coverage.
