One of the nation's top running backs has committed to Alabama for 2015. Damien Harris announced today from his school gym that he would be heading south to join the Crimson Tide.
Harris' 5-10, 208 lbs frame reminds many observers of former Bama star Mark Ingram. Much like the 2009 Heisman winner, Harris is a low-to-the-ground bruiser who can break the long runs. A strong explosive runner, it doesn't take him long to burst through a hole in the line. He is an excellent blocker and excels as a receiver out of the backfield.
He rushed for 6,748 yards and 113 touchdowns in his high school career. Most scouting reports rank him as the number one or two running back in the nation.
The Berea, KY native chose Alabama over nearby Kentucky and Ohio State.
Harris becomes the 26th commitment to the Crimson Tide Class of 2015 leading up to National Signing Day on Wednesday, February 4. Stay tuned to RBR for full coverage of #NSD2015.
