SOMETHING DIFFERENT FOR THE MUSIC RBR FANS II

I would like to offer a small tribute to Mr. Percy Tyrone Sledge. His death on April 14, 2015 will leave a void in the R&B world. He was born November 25, 1941, in Leighton, Alabama. He was an orderly at Colbert County Hospital when signed to a recording contract. His most well-known recording "When a Man Loves a Woman" was released in 1966. The song was originally recorded at Rick Hall’s FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals. Since his bassist and organist helped him write the song he gave the songwriting credits to them. He never received any royalties from the song. He has been inducted to several different music hall of fames. He died of liver cancer in Baton Rouge.
