UALR graduate transfer forward James White set for Alabama official visit | AL.com
Alabama head coach Avery Johnson recently indicated that he wanted to add a big man for next year's team, and Arkansas-Little Rock graduate transfer James White could fill that role.
The 6'7" PF is a grad transfer and is available to play immediately. He is coming off an injury but was putting up great numbers before being lost for the season.
4-star shooting guard Kobie Eubanks set for Alabama official visit | AL.com
One of the nation's top uncommitted prospects in the class of 2015 will make an official visit to Alabama later this month. Kobie Eubanks, a 6-foot-5, 212-pound wing guard from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., will make his trip from May 19-21.
Kansas, West Virginia are also on Eubanks' radar. Alabama is apparently intriguing because of the prospect of walking in and immediately making an impact. This feels like the bad ole' days in football, when the new coaching staff is selling playing time and a need for playmakers at every position.
Alabama Notes
Nick Saban provides positive update on two injured Alabama defensive starters | AL.com
Cornerback Cyrus Jones and outside linebacker Denzel Devall...fully cleared medically, coach Nick Saban said during an SEC conference call Tuesday.
Both players were apparently cleared for Spring ball, but held out in an abundance of caution.
Nick Saban says you can't force Alabama QB battle, so Tide's 'going to let it happen' | AL.com
"We rotated the reps in the spring, really more to four guys ― all of which deserve an opportunity. They didn't necessarily get equal reps, but they all got an opportunity."
Saban is letting the QB battle resolve itself organically rather than trying to force some resolution, and that's probably for the best. That said "letting it all happen" means we'll probably still be talking about Coker's pros and cons into October.
With a strong relief effort from junior Will Carter, Alabama baseball defeated the visiting Mercer Bears by a final score of 5-3 on Tuesday evening inside Joe W. Davis Municipal Stadium. With its sixth consecutive win, the Crimson Tide continues its hot streak and improves to 29-24 overall on the season.
Looming large this weekend, Vanderbilt.

Best incoming freshman classes by position: Offense
The future of the Alabama offense looks to be in good hands with the Tide's No. 1-ranked class making the top five at four positions.
Quarterbacks were not represented, as the Tide just took one, but he's a good one, in Blake Barnett.
Best incoming freshman classes by position: Defense
...here is a look at the defense (and athletes) as ranked by 247Sports analysts with player star ratings according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.
The only unit Alabama didn't appear on was linebacker, which is absolutely no surprise. Alabama already goes nine-deep at linebacker, and the Tide's recruiting efforts were more balanced this NSD than at any other time under Saban.
How to get taxpayer money for your favorite college football team - SBNation.com
...the notion of not funding this program in many ways would put us in the position of not being relevant." Barnes reached out to Utah state senator Lyle Hillyard, who suggested $1.5 million in state money. The idea was approved.
Pay-for-play, i.e., "full cost of attendance" won't be an issue for the oligarchs, but for 80-85 schools at DI, the State is going to have to foot the bill, the programs will have to accept irrelevance, or programs will necessarily have to fold. And, worse, you could see this outcome a mile away. Utah State is just the canary in the mine on COA.
