The Crimson Tide picked up commitment No. 12 on Monday evening as linebacker Jaquan Yulee announced at a press conference at Indian River High School (Chesapeake, VA) his intentions to sign with Bama.
The 2016 inside linebacker is a consensus 4-star with potential to add a fifth star by the time National Signing Day rolls around in February of 2016. Yulee earned Junior All-American and All-State honors this past season. He was the star at The Opening at Washington D.C. regional and one of only six players to move on to the Opening Finals held July 5-10.
Yulee has excellent vision of the field and can run down running backs or blow up a play with equal ferocity. This guy loves to hit. His combination of size, speed, and strength makes him the ideal Mike linebacker.
He has great instincts and reads and reacts to plays very quickly. He plays sideline to sideline and is a very physical. Overall, he is one of the best linebacker prospects I have seen. -- Michael Clark, scout.com
Yulee becomes the first linebacker pledge for the Tide’s 2016 class and twelfth overall. He chose Alabama over Virginia Tech, Michigan State, North Carolina, Florida State, Notre Dame, and Ohio State among a long list of others.
Linebackers coach Tosh Lupoi is the primary recruiter with an assist from Kirby Smart.
