It was announced on Thursday that Alabama and Fresno State have agreed to play a non-conference football game on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
The Bulldogs pulled off a rare feat in 2014 by finishing with a 6-8 record. Their 6-6 regular season was followed by losses in the MWC Championship (Boise) and in the Hawaii Bowl (Rice). Fresno was 11-2 the season before under current Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr.
It will be the first meeting between the Crimson Tide and the Bulldogs on the football field.
This is the third non-conference opponent to be scheduled for Bama for 2017. The Tide recently agreed to meet Florida State in Atlanta's new Falcons Stadium to kickoff the 2017 season. Colorado State has been on the books for a few years.
