The NFL Can't Handle Amari and Julio

WRU?

Best in the NFL?
Best in the NFL?
Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

Amari Cooper and Julio Jones are off to outstanding starts to the NFL season.

Julio is in his fifth season with the Atlanta Falcons and recently signed the second-richest WR contract in NFL history following a phenomenal 2014 season. In the first two games of 2015 he had an NFL-high 22 receptions for 276 yards and two touchdowns. On Sunday he and QB Matt Ryan hooked up 12 more times for 164 yards and two scores against Morris Claiborne and the vaunted Dallas Cowboys secondary. He is currently on pace to crush the NFL single-season record for both receptions and receiving yards.

As a rookie playing with a lesser quarterback on the Oakland Raiders, Amari isn't putting up quite the numbers that future Hall-of-Famer Jones is, but he came into the weekend with 12 catches for a healthy 156 yards and a TD through two games. He had a huge game in week three, torching the Cleveland Browns for another 8 catches for 134 yards. He should be near the top ten in both categories at week's end.

Roll Tide, gents.
