In recent years, we have gotten some excellent previews of future great Crimson Tide players. While the rest of the country only got to know players like Julio Jones, Landon Collins, and Calvin Ridley after they saw them play at Bryant-Denny in crimson and white, the Under Armour All-America Football Game is a great way to scout them out before they step on campus.

All of the above players will play for Team Highlight in white uniforms.

1 Ben Davis OLB Gordo, AL Gordo 5 stars, Top 15. Bama is the favorite over UGA.
3 Lyndell Wilson OLB Montgomery, AL Carver 5 stars, Top 15. Bama, Fla, UGA.
3 Shyheim Carter * CB Kentwood, LA Kentwood 4 stars, Bama (decommit) & UGA, maybe OM.
6 Keith Gavin WR Crawfordville, FL Wakulla County 4 stars, FSU (decommit) & Bama, maybe UGA, Fla.
8 Cavin Ridley WR Deerfield Beach, FL Deerfield Beach 4 stars, Bama lean, brother of Calvin Ridley.
13 Nigel Knott CB Madison, MS Germantown 4 stars, Bama & Oregon. OM, MSU outside shot.
24 Terrell Hall DE Washington, DC Saint John's Coll 4 stars, may be a Tide lean over many.
72 Jauan Williams OT Washington, DC Archbishop 4 stars, Bama battle with Maryland & FSU.

* All of the above with the exception of Shyheim Carter will play for Team Highlight in white. Carter will play with Team Armour in a black uniform.

None of the players mentioned above are expected to announce at the game.

Also of note:

  • The Tide recently offered four-star corner Kristian Fulton of Metairie, LA (black jersey #2) on Dec. 24 but they may be too late.
  • Five star DT Rashard Lawrence will not play in the game due to ankle and knee injuries. The Monroe, LA native looks like an LSU lean with Bama still in the mix. He attends the same high school (Neville) as current Tide safety Hootie Jones.
  • The consensus number one player Rashan Gary will wear white jersey #55. The New Jersey DT looks like a strong Michigan lean over Bama.
  • Ole Miss' latest suspicious recruit commit is OT Gregory Little (Allen, TX). The nation's number two player will wear white jersey #74.
  • Bama has an outside chance at four-star DT Michail Carter (black jersey #90). He is a lean to his home state UGA.
  • Team Armour will be coached by Steve Mariucci, while Herm Edwards will lead Team Highlight.
  • If I was a betting man, I'd put my money on Team Highlight.

This exhibition airs Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016 at 11am/Noon from Orlando, FL on ESPN2.
