After fifteen games, five months, a painful loss to Ole Miss, a nail-biter against Tennessee, and an all-time classic against Clemson, now comes the fun part -- the celebration.
University of Alabama will celebrate championship on Saturday | TuscaloosaNews.com
A parade will begin at
10 a.m.on University Boulevard by Denny Chimes and conclude in front of the stadium with a ceremony at the end of the Walk of Champions by the north end zone. Head coach Nick Saban, Alabama players, staff, athletics director Bill Battle and others will be in attendance. The school will give away 10,000 championship posters and 5,000 championship promotional items during the parade and celebration.
Sure, it's not a very long parade, and you can bet in that narrow strip of real estate that it will be packed. Come very early for the giveaways and to get your parking, which shall largely follow game day parking procedures.
* UPDATE: Alabama has moved its national championship parade start time to 11 a.m. CT on Saturday, Jan. 23. The format will stay the same.
* UPDATE 2: If you cannot make it to the parade, it will be televised by the SEC Network Alt channel! The event is scheduled to re-air Saturday evening at 10 p.m. CT, and again on Sunday at noon CT on the SEC Network.
