As you are undoubtedly aware, Alabama is on a historic run scoring touchdowns on defense and special teams. On the season, the Tide has reached the end zone eleven times with those units, and has now managed such a touchdown in nine consecutive games dating back to last season’s playoff run.
Gary Danielson coined an acronym for this phenomenon - “NOTs” for “non-offensive TDs” - which isn’t awful, but some folks reject the source and it isn’t terribly fun.
Therefore, today we submit a new acronym: TOTO, for “touchdowns other than offensive,” complete with theme music and a fun little game.
We’ll call it “The Wheel of TOTO Domination.”
In the comments, tell us who you predict will score this week’s TOTO (or TOTOs, if you are particularly Gumpy today) and how it will happen. Next week we will revisit the comments and acknowledge proper bragging rights for the clairvoyant among us.
We will keep it going as long as the streak continues, and longer if the mood strikes.
Roll Tide.
