Woof. Five hours of College Gameday live in Columbus. I’m not sure even the most ardent Big Ten partisan can make it through that. But, if Rece is up, we’re up.
This morning’s big event is obviously the de facto playoff tussle between No. 3 Michigan and No. 2 Ohio State. The storylines for the early game are the big three outcomes: does Michigan regain its destiny with a win? Does Penn State watch a Buckeye win, with only Sparty standing between it and a B1GCG appearance and a possible title and playoff berth? Does Ohio State crush Michigan, and then have Delany beg for the Buckeyes to make the playoffs despite not even winning their division. (Personally, having the Big 10 grovel for an outcome they so vociferously fought against in 2011 would make me inappropriately tingly, so I kind of want this one to happen.)
Locally, Kentucky and Louisville meet this morning in a bad-blood rivalry. It will be interesting to see what the Cardinals have in the tank after Clemsoning away their playoff shot.
Georgia - Georgia Tech is the other game of note, as the Jackets try to salvage a frankly wasted season, and Kirby Smart tries to build on the goodwill that came from its win over Auburn.
We’ll see you for the Iron Bowl open thread. In the meanwhile:
- Where are you watch from?
- What are you watching?
- Who are your rooting interests today?
- Food? Libations?
