Alabama vs Auburn Second Half Open Thread

This is such an Auburn game

NCAA Football: Auburn at Alabama Marvin Gentry-USA TODAY Sports

As usual when the Tide has to deal with playing Auburn, everything that can go wrong, goes wrong. With a slurry of big kick returns, weak targeting calls, terrible ball handling, and miscommunications, Auburn is only trailing the Tide by 4 points after one half.

This is despite the Tigers only gaining one first down the entire half. Alabama’s defense has made sure Auburn has been unable to move the ball and capitalize on the Alabama miscues.

Hurts has thrown two interceptions and has nearly fumbled the ball away many more times. ArDarius Stewart has made some big plays, but also dropped one and almost fumbled a couple more. Damien Harris has also fumbled one.

Alabama did still put up over 200 yards on offense, so its not like Auburn’s defense has actually done a whole lot... Alabama has just shot itself in the foot repeatedly with a newly bought assault rifle.

If the offense can clean up the ball-handling issues, this could get ugly for Auburn in the second half.
