After flirting with the idea of playing for the rebuilding Georgia Bulldogs, Lyndell Wilson has announced that he will be staying home and playing for the Crimson Tide. As one of only 25 players given 5-stars, Wilson should be an elite player for Alabama who will contribute heavily as a true freshman.
Wilson has good size (6'2"/230) and the versatility to play any linebacker position for the Crimson Tide. They call him "Mack" because he hits like a Mack truck. Wilson wreaked havoc on opposing offenses tallying 115 tackles, 75 of which were solo, for an average of 11.5 tackles per game. He finished with 5.0 sacks, four caused fumbles and a recovery for Carver High School in Montgomery, AL.
Wilson earned Class 6A all-state honors by the Alabama Sports Writers Association and is a three-time All-Metro selection by the Montgomery Advertiser. He also took part in the UnderArmour All-America Game.
Wilson was also considering Georgia and Florida.
