If you are an Alabama fan then you LOVE defense. Hard-nosed-flying-around-the-field-knock-em-in-the-teeth defense. The 2011 Crimson Tide team was one of those kinds of defenses.
Dont'a Hightower, Mark Barron, Courtney Upshaw, Dre Kirkpatrick, Robert Lester, Josh Chapman, Nico Johnson, Jesse Williams, C. J. Mosley, Damion Square, Dee Milliner, DeQuan Menzie, Xzavier Dickson, Ed Stinson, Quinton Dial, Trey DePriest, Vinnie Sunseri, and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix held the Tigers in check for most of the 2011-2012 BCS National Championship Game.
And the offense wasn't too shabby themselves.
AJ McCarron at the helm. Trent Richardson and Eddie Lacy carrying the rock behind Barrett Jones, Chance Warmack, William Vlachos, and D. J. Fluker. Michael Williams at tight end, Brad Smelley at H-back. Wide receivers Darius Hanks and Kevin Norwood.
The Special Teams were solid as well with Jeremy Shelley placekicking and Cody Mandell punting. Even the long snapper was top notch. Carson Tinker is beginning his fourth season with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
