In recent years, news broke that a few walk-on players were rewarded with scholarships for the spring semester. Often times they are the beneficiaries of scholarshipped players who leave early for the NFL or other avenues. It is rare when a walk-on gets a fall scholarship.
No official word has been released but several current Crimson Tide players have tweeted their congratulations to Jamey Mosley for receiving a scholarship.
S/O to my big bro @IAm_JameFlame on the scholarship! One of the hardest workers I know

Mosley also got a tweet from Ravens linebacker Zachary Orr:
@IAm_JameFlame congrats bro!

Mosley, who is the younger brother of former Bama and current Baltimore Ravens linebacker C.J. Mosley, is a rising redshirt sophomore from Mobile, Alabama (Theodore HS). The linebacker turned down scholarship offers from Western Kentucky, UAB, Tulane, and Old Dominion for a chance to play for the Crimson Tide. It is nice to see someone who WANTS to be at Alabama get justly rewarded.
Congratulations to Mosley for his hard work and dedication!
