Alabama tops AP Preseason Top 25 poll; six SEC teams make early ranking

Same ole, same ole as the SEC again tops the AP poll.

Championship trophies

The first AP Preseason Top 25 poll is out, and there really aren’t any surprises here, as Alabama tops the initial release. The only thing that does stick out, quite unlike the Coaches poll, is that Alabama barely received half of all first-place votes (33 of 61).

The SEC leads the field with six teams, the PAC12 fields five, while the ACC and Big 12 each have four.
