Alabama vs Ole Miss 2016: Second half open thread

NCAA Football: Alabama at Mississippi Matt Bush-USA TODAY Sports

Well, the Tide is down 24-17. There was a stretch in the 2nd quarter where almost everything that could go wrong for Alabama, went wrong. Penalties, miscues, etc.

But a poor kickoff let Jalen Hurts lead a quick Alabama score, and then the subsequent Ole Miss punt was returned by surprise returner Eddie Jackson.

It could be a lot worse. That the Tide is only down one possession is a testament to their mental tenacity. Alabama will get the ball back to start the half, and a good drive could even the game back up.

Passing:

Jalen Hurts: 16/23 for 89 yards

Chad Kelly: 9/14 for 167 yards and a touchdown

Rushing:

Jalen Hurts: 9 rushes for 52 yards

Joshua Jacobs: 3 rushes for 33 yards

Damien Harris: 6 rushes for 29 yards

Calvin Ridley: 2 rushes for 2 yards and a touchdown

Chad Kelly: 6 rushes for 38 yards

Akeem Judd: 6 rushes for 36 yards

Eugene Brazley: 1 rush for 2 yards

Hang in there, Alabama fans

This team isn’t done yet, don’t give up on them. Games like this will test the mental toughness of this team, and Jalen Hurts has the chance to truly win over the team with a solid second half.

Roll Tide, and lets beat some Rebels.
