Minkah Fitzpatrick certainly made a name for himself in his breakout 2015 freshman campaign, “Sixpatrick” to be exact, as a ball-hawking DB who is more than capable of baiting a quarterback into a bad decision and then doing serious damage once the ball is in his hands. In two seasons at the Capstone he has seven interceptions, four of which have gone back for touchdowns, and there will almost certainly be more to come.
It will be tough to top this effort in Fayetteville, however:
What an athlete. They may call this a 100-yarder in college ball, but in the NFL it would go down for 109, literally the longest possible return. Rarely do you find Minkah’s combination of size, speed, hands, and instincts. Now that he has moved to his more natural position of free safety, he should have even more opportunities to break on the football. He has Pro Bowls in his future.
Enjoy him, folks. He’s special.
Roll Tide.
