Thursday Night College Football Viewer Guide and Open Thread: High stakes in the ACC Atlantic

Call this elimination night in Greensboro, for one team at least. The 4-1 Louisville Cardinals (No. 17) travel to play the 4-1 North Carolina State Wolfpack (No. 24). The Cards are sitting at 1-1 in the conference and are trending down somewhat after being smacked around at home by Clemson two weeks ago. The Wolfpack are heading the opposite direction, undefeated in ACC play at 3-0, with a surprising road win over the Florida State Seminoles. For Louisville to keep pace in the division — a division they share with Florida State and Clemson — this is a must-win. NC State can afford a loss, but trying to play catch-up with Clemson is never an enviable task.

Anyway, it’s a good game and an important game between two ranked teams. It’s also apt to be a high scoring affair. What else are you going to do — it’s Thursday night?
