2017 Alabama Football Recruiting News & Update: Henry Ruggs Commits to Alabama

Fan Favorite says “Roll Tide!”

It only took one game for Henry Ruggs to become a fan favorite of Alabama fans. The Lee-Montgomery (AL) product cut a swath through the opposing defense at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl earlier this month on an electric 61-yard touchdown reception. He also caught an 18-yard pass from future teammate Tua Tagovailoa in that game.

The 6’0” 175 lbs receiver made more Bama fans when he chose to sign with Alabama over Florida State.

The Class 7A Back of the Year accounted for 20 touchdowns on 102 touchs in nine games this season. Ruggs had 38 catches for 639 yards (16.82 avg) and nine touchdowns, 36 carries for 446 yards (12.39 avg) and seven scores, seven kickoff returns for 352 yards and a touchdown and even played a little quarterback, going 11 of 23 for 186 yards and three touchdowns. He is also an outstanding basketball player but his future lies in football.

Ruggs is very quick and can make defenders miss. He can play outside receiver or slot. His RBR Composite ranking is 4.2.
