BREAKING: That was fast -- Sarkisian to the Falcons

After spending just a year in Tuscaloosa, the NFL reaches out and poaches Steve Sarkisian

Wow. that was fast. A month after being named Alabama’s offensive coordinator, and just two weeks after moving Mike Locksley to the field, Steve Sarksian has taken a new job in the NFL.

He will reportedly replace Kyle Shanahan as Offensive Coordinator for the NFC Champion Atlanta Falcons. It’s not official yet, but Schefter tends to get it right.

We’ll have more as the story is confirmed. Here’s the report (which doesn’t say much more than above.)

Now, it will be interesting to see if Saban stands pat on Mike Locksley and elevates him to OC, which would clear the way to hire Dameyune Craig as WR Coach, or if Coach poaches someone else off of his wishlist.
